Denise Harrison – Sterling Echoes
Starting with a photograph or drawing, Denise creates jewelry with intriguing textures and hidden meanings. Her distinctive process combines photography with traditional printmaking and metal smithing techniques such as acid etching, lost wax casting, fabrication, and stone setting. The initial photographs and drawings come from a wide variety of sources, including beer lacing, architecture, nature, and even pets and fingerprints.
Denise believes we are who we are because of where we have been, who we have known and where we want to go. So, in addition to her stock items and custom orders, Denise started Creating to Aid as a way to give back in a meaningful way to causes that are important to herself and her customers. Using her process she creates pieces from images or drawings that connect to the cause. A portion of each sale is donated back to the corresponding charity. She currently partners with the ALS Association of Oregon and Washington, Hilarity for Charity (benefiting Alzheimer’s research), Pink Boots Society (Utah Chapter), The Tracy Aviary, and Friends of FSH Cell Research. Denise is always looking for new organizations and causes to support.
